Selectors ring changes on squad

Sunday's Selectors sounded changes on Bangladesh's national cricket team by opening drummer Soumya Sarkar's AXING and Bowler's Taskin Ahmed's rhythm among other things for three countries to come one-day international home tournament. In the first team of the post-Chandani Hathurusinghe era, the selection committee led by Abedin Minhajul brought drummer Anamul Haque and multipurpose rhythm bowling Abul Hasan to replace the duo in the 16-man team of Bangladesh, announced for both first matches of the tournamentSoumya struggled with his form for a while, but he had always been protected by Hathurusinghe, the immediate Bangladesh coach, who would never have compromised with his personal choices. The selection committee worked naturally with more freedom this time around and they used that chance to reorganize the team that suffered a 0-3 thrashing in their last one-day international round in South Africa.Pacer Mustafizur Rahman came back as planned after missing the tour in South Africa with a twisted ankle in selectors also brought up for Mohammad Batsman Mithun as a cover for Imrul Kayes.Imrul received a contusion during a training session on Friday, which paved the way for Mithun, one of the few bright lights among local drummers at the recent Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 tournament.Liton Das, who played in South Africa in the three ODI only 13.66 in 41 points scored. Drummer Mominul Haque, who stayed in South Africa as a cover for Tamim Iqbal, but did not neglect eitherLiton and Mominul, however, were not part of the regular side of ODI in recent years and, therefore, their exclusion was a small surprise. Unlike the duo, Soumya and Taskin played a big role in the recent success of ODI in Bangladesh, making their selection difficult for breeders.Chief coach Minhajul said he considered the last form of his past as part of the team, making Soumya and Taskin inadmissible. After an ICC Champions Trophy fight in the UK, Soumya gave an opportunity to an ODI in South Africa.Taskin also struggled in South Africa, picking up two wickets in three ODIs."We have no doubt about his talent," said Minhajul about Soumya. "But he's not on a good pace, so we decided to give him a break, he's our client, I hope he'll come back in his formThe reason for Taskin is the same form. He was not satisfied during the last tour in South Africa. So, I think he needs to play games in the longer version in domestic cricket. So he gave a break for the same reason, "he said.Spinner of left arm Sunzamul Islam came back to the side after playing his only ODI in Ireland in June.Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in the opening match of the tri-national tournament at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on January 15th.The tri-national tournament will be followed by the bilateral series against South Africa with two tests and as many as twenty internationals.
